SURPRISE!!!! Jason's 35!!!!

OHHHH...I TOTALLY GOT HIM!!! Ok...So Jason's birthday is on September 16th...I threw him a small surprise birthday dinner party on September 13th at Tia Rosas!!! (same day as Anna's first soccer game, Anna's birthday party and stake baptisms that I have to attend....I know...I am either insane or I truly don't think things through....oh and I was babysitting my sisters 3 kids that weekend). Ok...he had NO idea!!! I can honestly say in the 9 1/2 years we have been married, I don't think I have been able to surprise him once! I was a total wreck that whole week....and 100% worse the actual day of. My stomach was in knots, I was literally sick from about 5:00p.m. until we walked through the doors. I was so nervous that he was going to find out. I told more lies that day then I have in a LONG time!!! So...I told him we were having dinner with our Bishop and his wife. I told him Bishop had meetings so we just had to meet them at the restarant. We walked in and I think at first he was totally confused. I think he thought it was a fluke that so many people we knew where at the same restarant as we were!! Then they all yelled SURPRISE and he was able to figure it out!!! He just looked at me and said "That's messed up!!!" Yes ladies and gentlemen...that was his first comment to me!!! Anyway....despite what he said to me, the night was a HUGE success and I am so glad that I was able to pull it off!!! Tons of thanks to all who came and HUGE thanks to Sue and Jill for all their help in making it happen!!! We just walked in....this would be the "messed up" part!!!

Anna's Movie Madness Birthday Bash!!!!

***DISCLAIMER*** This post may contain some "pat mom on the back" moments!!!!
Ok...I threw Anna one of the cutest birthday parties for her 6th birthday...it had a movie theme...and the girls were the stars!! Here are some of the details...
Ok...so when the girls arrived, I had a red carpet up the walk way for them to walk on to the door. On the door I had a totally cute sign (pat mom on the back moment #1) on the door for them to read!! (you will see it pictured below) Then when they got in, we had hot dogs for lunch since hot dogs are served at movie theatres! We then had the girls put on costumes and we filmed them doing a "beauty contest" kind of. They came out and modeled their evening wear, then they did a talent and then we had the question and answer portion of the event. To end the whole pagent...we had a DANCE PARTY...the girls totally rocked out to Hannah Montana!! We then headed in for cake and ice-cream! The cake...oh the cake...the cake was FABULOUS in my own humble opionion (pat mom on the back moment #2). The cake was a box of popcorn!!!! The cake of course is also pictured below!!! It was a huge hit!!! (I came up with the idea...trust me...you cannot find a popcorn cake design ANYWHERE on the internet!! I did have some help with the actual popcorn part of the cake...hey... I can give credit where credit is due!!!) So anyway...after cake and presents, we pulled out the popcorn containers (filled with popcorn of course) all the different kinds of "movie theatre" candies, and we got ready for the show!! Now...you might be asking yourselfs...What movie did you watch??? Well...we watched the beauty contest that the girls put on!!! THEY LOVED THIS!!! They were all laughing the whole time watching themselfs on the T.V.!!! Ok... now on to the goody bags...(get ready for pat mom on the back moment #3)!! I had popcorn containers stuffed with yellow tissue paper. Inside each container was a bag of microwave popcorn and a box of "movie theatre" candy, a mini candy bar and a couple of suckers!!! OH MY GOSH....they were so cute (they are also picutred below)!!! This was such a fun party!! The girls had a blast and I think Anna loved it!!!

We had a b-day dinner...Anna got to pick the dinner...she picked Mac and Cheese!! I know...I have totally failed with this girl!! I couldn't serve adults mac and cheese so we also had alfredo chicken!!!

Happy birthday Bell-a-rina!!! We love you so much and are so glad that you are part of our family!! You are such a sweet, tender hearted little girl!! I love how much you love your sister and brother, and how you always look out for them!! You truly are sunshine in our home!!! We love you SOOOOOO much!! Happy 6th birthday!!!!

A "how to" guide on spending a RELAXING Friday Night!!

STEP 1 : Choose a quiet and relaxing location. ( Ahhhh...does Amazing Jakes count??)



STEP 2: Choose your company carefully...they can make or break your night. (Mom (check) , Anna (check), Mallory(check), Shammy (check), Dad (check...or sratch the Dad...taking the girls out was HIS idea, but he "graciously" stayed HOME with Tate!! )



STEP 3: Get yourself all dolled up...it is fun to look nice. (Oh... how fun it is getting 4 girls ready, my niece Amber came with us too!! I got ready, then got all 3 girls ready...only to have ALL 3 girls take their hair out in the car, because...well...I HAVE NO IDEA!!!!



STEP 4: Proceed to your desired location and make the best of your night out!!!! (We ended up having a fabulous time!! The girls were in heaven, and how can a mother not have fun, when she is watching her kids have such a GREAT time!!! The girls rode the train, they rode the carousel, they rode on the NEW "roller coaster", they did the bumper cars, the tea cups, and of course...the FROG HOPPER...that was the hit of the night...I think they did that ride like 10-15 times!!! We had dinner there, watch alittle bit of the movie ANTS in the movie room and then went back to the rides!!! We really had a fabulous time and I loved every minute of the 3 HOURS we were there!!! I have one funny tidbit to add. This is just to show how truly DIFFERENT my two girls are. While they were riding on the carousel, I was watching Anna and Mallory...Anna had her arms floating ever so gently up and down like the wings of a butterfly. She also seemed to be humming softly to herself...totally Anna. Then I looked next to her to see my sweet Mallory...and guess what I found??? Mallory is HITTING her horse...literally pounding on the side of his head and she is YELLING at him to GO FASTER....she is yelling GO HORSEY...GO HORSEY...FASTER FASTER...GO FASTER...all the while she is pounding on the horse. So...I have my gentle little butterfly girl...and my rough little brute!!! It was so funny to watch them... both so different... right next to each other!!! I LOVE MY GIRLS!!! Cute little cousing clan!!!
