Double take on the "Double"

On one or two occasions, I have heard my girls say..."Lets do a double." I always assumed it was some fun sister game they had...I guess I was kind of right!! So...a few weeks ago Jason and I were getting the girls ready for bed, when we heard them say..."Lets do a double." Jason decided to follow them and find out just what a double was. While he was investigating, I tried to come up with some ideas of my own...just what can MY girls do that can be doubled. A double front flip perhaps...or maybe a double round off back handspring. Maybe, it is something to do with ice-cream. A few moments later, Jason returned, wearing a look that totally sent my ideas crashing to the floor. "Do you know what a double is" he asked?? I responded "No...what is it??".............Well my friends...apparently what Jason found was my 2 beautiful, adorable, perfect little sweet cheeks sharing the toilet seat while peeing in unison. That's right...apparently that is a "DOUBLE" in our house!!!

p.s. unfortunately we were unable to capture that treasured moment on film....so this entry is all the documentation we will have of that "makes a mother proud" moment!!

p.s.s. I guess when you gotta go...you gotta go.

p.s.s.s. Guess all those lessons in sharing are really paying off.

Playing Hooky with the High School Musical Hotties!!!

If I were the Mom I wish I were...this post would have been me and the girls...midnight showing (ok...probably not) but at least opening day...1st showing!! I however am apparently not the Mom I wish I were!! I do try...believe me...I do try....but on this particular occasion, opening day coincided with my babysitting day. So my poor, picked on, never get to do anything fun kids had to wait a WHOLE 6 days to see this movie after it opened!! If you are thinking to yourself...what a horrible, wretch of mom. Those poor kids deserve sooooo much better!! You are right!!! However...let me try to redeem myself here!!! It may have been a whole 6 days after it opened, but...(wait for it....) I pulled them out of school, (they only had to attend 2 hours), I let them bring a friend, I took them to a grown up eatery of their choosing, we took picutres, and we saw the movie on the biggest screen in Arizona!!! (If you still feel sorry for my poor picked on kidlets...I WANT YOU FOR MY MOM!!!) So...needless to say we had a "FABULOUS" time!!!
HERE IS THE PROOF!!!
Anna, Mallory and Sydney with Ryan and Sharpay (notice Chad and Taylor in the background) Sharpay has NOTHING on my GIRLS!!!

Pumpkin Carving 2008

WE ARE ALIVE!!!! I know...I know...You are all wondering where the heck I have been? (Some of you are probably going through some MAJOR Vance family withdrawls.) Well...have no fear...I (we) have returned!!! I have some major catch uo to play too. So now...you all get MAJOR Vance family overload!! Let us begin...
Below is our annual pumpkin carving family night. We had a great time. We invited our neighbors (the Stoddards) over for some Pizza and Pumpkin carving fun. (How can it not be fun when we are involved.) I gotta tell ya...I was slightly impressed with the growth my kidlets experienced from last years pumpkin carving to this years!! It totally cracks me up to see the faces they come up with. Now...bear in mind when you look at these MASTERPIECES...that we cut out exactly what they draw!!! (when I say we...I mean Jason ofcourse...I am a busy girl)
(Note...to all you "expert" bloggers ...I am not trendy enough yet to have mastered the art of slideshows...so sorry about all the pictures. Also note that for one of the first times they are not in the correct order either...OH WELL...I am tired and lazy today and I am not going to fix it!!) ENJOY!!!
